Join us for a special event with Pacific Diplomats and Youth Activists. There will be remarks from Ambassador Teburoro Tito of Kiribati and Ambassador Amatlain Kabua of RMI. We will also hear from MEI Executive Director and RTT Advisor, Benetick Kabua Maddison. The youth panel will consist of speakers from Peace Boat US, Earth Echo International, Blue Planet Alliance, Sustainable Ocean Alliance, and a Youth for the SDGs scholar!

The Water Tour: Learning from Youth about Sustainability

This event consists of a guided walking tour to different interesting sites near the UNHQ building to learn more about the sustainable uses of water, and conclude with a discussion panel. The tour will be conducted entirely by young experts who will explain the history and relevance of each place visited, including the East River Esplanade, the Paley Park Cascade, the Water Management Office of NYC, among other places. One of the facilitators will be one of Peace Boat US’s Youth for the SDGs scholar, Juan Sebastian Huertas Olea!

Art and Education around the SDGs at the World Trade Center

Peace Boat US will be co-hosting a talk series and evening reception on March 24. I ♡ NY Sea brings together four women each working in their own unique way to apply creative thinking to positive social change. The event will be held on two stages. Stage one is a series of meditations taking place on the BEtime bus while will be parked outside The Oculus. On stage two, an inspiring panel discussion focusing on creativity as a force of social change and good with an emphasis on water and ocean conservation will be led by Peace Boat US Director, Emilie McGlone. Other speakers will be Carla Hammond of BEtime Practice, Yvette Vexta, Artist in Residence at WTC and Morgan Rae of L’eautelier.
