Representatives of governments, UN agencies and civil society will gather from 7 to 15 July at the United Nations Headquarters in New York for the 2026 High-level Political Forum (HLPF) to assess progress on the Sustainable Development Goals (SDGs), share successes and challenges, and identify actions and lessons learned to help advance a more sustainable future for all by 2030.

Peace Boat US will host a side event during the UN HLPF to highlight the role of multi-stakeholder engagement as we work towards a more sustainable future for all. Upon returning from their voyage onboard Peace Boat for the UN Decade of Ocean Science for Sustainable Development, Peace Boat US Director Emilie McGlone and “Youth for the SDGs” scholars will present their work for ocean and climate action in Latin America, sharing inspirational stories from the field in Panama, Guatemala and Mexico.

Blue Planet Alliance Global Ambassadors will also present their work for youth engagement with SDG 7 for Renewable Energy, including partnerships with island nations and governments creating a movement to reach a 100% renewable energy future by the year 2045. Peace Boat will present Ecoship, a decarbonization model for maritime transportation and a vessel that will sail for the UN Sustainable Development Goals.
