Peace Boat US will be participating in the upcoming United Nations Summit of the Future and Climate Week NYC events from September 20 – 30. As the largest annual climate event,  New York City hosts over 600 public events and activities throughout New York City and online. Every year business leaders, advocates, local decision takers and civil society representatives from around the world share progress and change that is already happening.

We invite you to join us for this special program held together with government partners, UN delegates and civil society. Acknowledging that as laid out in the Pact for the Future “Environmental crises pose the most pressing and serious threats to the sustainability of our planet and the well-being of its present and future inhabitants and have disproportionate effects on developing countries”, Peace Boat will organize a side event at the Summit of the Future focused on engagement and empowerment for ocean and climate action for youth, in particular from Small Island Developing States (SIDS).

The side event will showcase the important role of youth in scaling up ocean action, in particular youth from SIDS on the front lines of the ocean and climate crises. Stocktaking successes and challenges, it will look towards further developments and collaborations for empowerment and engagement of youth including with the UN Decade of Ocean Science for Sustainable Development.

Redesigning the Future for a Sustainable Ocean for All

Peace Boat will dock in New York on Wednesday, October 16, and host 400+ climate leaders for Climate Camp: Peace Boat.

This half-day summit hosted by Peace Boat US and Tectonic will bring together a cross-
