Peace Boat US organizes many events in NYC and online during the weeks around World Oceans Day, recognized annually on June 8. We work to advance SDG 14, Life Below Water, by supporting important dialog, partnerships, and innovation necessary to protect the oceans.
What is UN World Oceans Day?
World Oceans Day, celebrated annually on June 8, is a global effort to raise awareness of the benefit humanity derives from the ocean, our individual and collective duty to use its resources sustainably, and mobilize action to preserve the ocean. Millions of people around the world partake in events throughout June organized by the UN, civil society, academia, governments and the private sector.
