Since 2015, Peace Boat US has participated in every COP meeting as a key part of our work to address climate change. Our engagement at COP meetings include:
- Advocating for sustainable and clean energy
- Promoting the ground-breaking Ecoship, a project of our Japan-based partner Peace Boat
- Youth engagement
- Supporting partner organizations in participating at COP
What is COP?
The United Nations Climate Change Conference of the Parties, or COP, is the annual conference for the United Nations Framework Convention on Climate Change (UNFCCC), the UN process for negotiating an agreement to limit dangerous climate change. COP meetings bring together thousands of members of government, civil society, buisiness leaders, innovators, academics and others to work on climate change mitigation and sustainable energy.
