Led by the United Nations Environment Programme (UNEP)\, and held annually since 1974\, it has grown to be the largest global platform for environmental outreach. It is celebrated by millions of people across the world. This year’s World Environment Day’s campaign slogan is “Only One Earth”\, with the focus on “Living Sustainably in Harmony with Nature”.\n\nAbout World Oceans Day (June 8th)\n\nThis year’s United Nations World Oceans Day\, on 8 June 2022\, will highlight the theme Revitalization: Collective Action for the Ocean. The ocean connects\, sustains\, and supports us all. Yet its health is at a tipping point and so is the well-being of all that depends on it. As the past years have shown us\, we need to work together to create a new balance with the ocean that no longer depletes its bounty but instead restores its vibrancy and brings it new life. Join us in celebrating this year’s theme through our “Collective Action for the Ocean” with various events taking place throughout the World Oceans Week.\n\n– – – – – – – – – – – – – – – – – – – – – – – – – – – – – – – – – – – – – – – –\n\n*Suggested dress code: Smart Casual\n\n– – – – – – – – – – – – – – – – – – – – – – – – – – – – – – – – – – – – – – – –\n\nThis event is produced by :\n\nBlue Planet Alliance (blueplanetalliance.org)\n\nPeace Boat US (peaceboat.org)\n\nThe Convergence (theconvergence.co)
